Advice to Directors of Financially Troubled Companies
In our experience, when a company is facing financial difficulties, the earlier advice is sought the more options we have at our disposal. We take a positive and tactful approach on advising directors of their responsibilities and always examine whether a business can be saved or restructured. We are always discreet and confidential.
Our team is therefore available at short notice to visit a company’s premises and quickly assess the circumstances. If appropriate, we can provide a detailed appraisal of the current and future situation. Such an appraisal is tailored to the needs of each individual assignment, and may contain an assessment of: - management; the current financial position; forecasts and working capital requirements; operations and capabilities; and sector and market.
If our appraisal concludes a viable business exists, we have access to a wide range of sources of alternative or additional funding. Additionally we have interim management resource to support and supplement management in achieving the restructure and turnaround, where appropriate.
Where a business cannot be saved and a formal solution is required, we advise on which procedure will maximise recoveries including Administration, Company Voluntary Arrange-ments and Liquidation. We can act as office holder in all of these procedures, and assist the directors and other stakeholders through the legislative aspects to ensure that the procedure is implemented with the minimum of stress and fuss.
