The successful
candidate will be responsible for: managing their own portfolio of tax clients, ensuring
their compliance needs are met as well as spotting planning opportunities. Preparing tax returns to a high standard and
providing support to other team members. This role is predominantly compliance
based but there will be opportunities to be involved in advisory work.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Managing own portfolio of work
Contacting clients to obtain information
Preparing tax returns
Reviewing work of junior team members
Assisting with planning and advisory work
Liaising with other inhouse teams to provide a joined up service
Contacting HMRC as required
Skills and Experience
Essential:
The successful candidate will be ATT qualified
Comfortable with and experienced in reviewing work of junior team members
Comfortable with client contact & used to managing own portfolio of clients
Experience in dealing with owner managed businesses, including profit extraction options for limited companies.
Experience in dealing with sole traders and partnerships including preparation of tax and capital allowances computations and associated planning including pensions and consideration of incorporation.
Proactive nature and proven project management skills

Some
knowledge of accounts would be an advantage

We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Tax Executive to join our Corporate Tax team.
The tax team at MHA Tait Walker has more than 40 staff across a range of tax specialisms and our Reliefs and Incentives team are a key element within the Corporate Tax team.
The successful candidate will assist our specialist incentives and reliefs teams to help clients access tax benefits and funding. Their primary role will be to assist with the preparation of Capital Allowance reports, Research & Development claims and claims for other specialist areas of corporate tax such as the Creative Sector.
This role will provide the successful applicant with
training and skills significantly in excess of those required for either CAs
and R&D claims alone and so will provide an opportunity for a broad range
of career progression paths.

The majority of this work requires the production of claims
in a report format. Interviewing,
researching skills and report writing skills are therefore integral to this

Experience in a connected role, such as Corporate Tax,
Accountancy or Surveying is preferable. However, the opportunity to study for
professional qualifications will also be available. This role may therefore
suit part qualified, or newly qualified, applicants.
The candidate will also receive relevant tax training where
required and will be trained to assist with the preparation of corporate tax
computations and other compliance work.

Diploma in Financial Planning
At least 3 years’ experience of working within a financial planning environment, 18 months of which in a Paraplanner role
Advanced technical knowledge of financial products
