The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting on accounting assignments for our non-audit client base.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Responsible for the preparation/review of management accounts
• Production of annual financial statements
• Calculate more complex areas for sets of financial statements completed by junior members of the team
• Produce a short summary on the contents of the accounts before passing to the Partner/ Manager
• Assist with the training of our ACA Graduates and AAT Apprentices

Skills and experience:

• Experience of accounts preparation
• Experience of outsourcing would be desirable
• AAT, ACA, ACCA or qualified by experience (minimum of 2 years)
• Experience of Sage, Xero and other cloud based software
• Previous practice experience would be advantageous

Business Services Audit Executive (Not for profit and education specialist)

Would you like to work for one of the region’s leading accountancy practices?

We’re looking for a qualified Business Services Executive (Audit) to join our growing Business Services’ team based at our Newcastle Office.

Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting on audit and accounting assignments for our not for profit client base inclusive of education clients with typical turnovers ranging between £1-50m.
Responsible for the audit process from initial planning through to completion reporting to the relevant Partner/Audit Manager.
Supervision of junior staff and providing training as required.

Skills and Experience

• Experience of external audit and knowledge of International Auditing Standards
• Experience of Preparing Statutory Accounts under FRS102
• Experience of Preparing Statutory Accounts under Charity SORP / Academies Accounts Direction
• ACA or ACCA qualified or Qualified by experience
• Full Driving Licence

Credit Controller

Would you like to work for one of the region’s leading accountancy practices? We’re looking for Credit Controller to join our Finance team based at our Gosforth office.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Liaising with Partners and Managers to ensure Client records are up to date
  • Chasing unpaid Client invoices to ensure payment is received within agreed timescales
  • Preparation of monthly reports and updates for monthly outstanding debt
  • Assist with other duties as required by Practice Manager

Experience and Background

  • 2 years’ experience working as part of an employment tax advisory team or a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as part of a tax compliance team
  • Employment tax experience is preferable but not essential

  • ATT/ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent professional qualification preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills are preferred

Corporate Finance Senior Executive, or Manager

Would you like to work for one of the region’s leading accountancy practices? We’re looking for a Corporate Finance Senior Executive, or Manager to join our Corporate Finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of high quality lead advisory services to clients and supporting the Corporate Finance Partners on a variety of transactions for the benefit of the firm and the clients it represents.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation, development and refinement of financial modelling to support transactions, business development, market research or firm admin
  • Prepare supporting documents and reports for transactions
  • Undertake market research for the purposes of supporting the CF partners and the CF team in its activities
  • Researching companies and industries to assist in acquisition searches and disposal mandates.
  • Assistance on running and administering transactions
  • Present a positive image of CF both internally and externally
  • Where appropriate, build relationships with clients operating as a trusted resource within the CF team and ensure effective delivery of tasks
  • Attend client meetings and take supporting notes, minutes and capture actions
  • Work with the CF Partners to ensure all CPD requirements are met and training needs identified
  • Deliver any other appropriate tasks reasonably requested

Wealth Support Administrator (Apprentice)

We are looking for the right candidate to join our Wealth Management team as a Wealth Support Administrator (Apprentice).

The role will be to provide suitable technical support to the team and take overall responsibility for the administrative process, whilst operating at all times within the compliance and internal procedures of the firm. Other duties include:

  • Administration, such as photocopying, answering telephones, maintaining the filing system and sorting post
  • Effective communication with product providers
  • Assist the Advisers with their diaries and time management
