This opportunity exists in our Newcastle office (although we do offer flexible working arrangements). Ideally the role will be for a full-time member of staff however part-time working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in tax compliance and a desire to learn new skills. The role will include:

Experience and Background

  • 2 years’ experience working as part of an employment tax advisory team or a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as part of a tax compliance team
  • Employment tax experience is preferable but not essential

Qualifications and Skills

  • ATT/ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent professional qualification preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills are preferred

Corporate Finance Executive (Qualified)

Would you like to work for one of the region’s leading accountancy practices? We’re looking for a Corporate Finance Senior Executive to join our Corporate Finance Team based at our Newcastle Office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of high quality lead advisory services to clients, support the Corporate Finance Partners on a variety of transactions for the benefit of the firm and the clients it represents.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation, development and refinement of financial modelling to support transactions, business development, market research or firm admin
  • Prepare supporting documents and reports for transactions
  • Undertake market research for the purposes of supporting the CF partners and the CF team in its activities
  • Researching companies and industries to assist in acquisition searches and disposal mandates.
  • Assistance on running and administering transactions
  • Present a positive image of CF both internally and externally
  • Where appropriate, build relationships with clients operating as a trusted resource within the CF team and ensure effective delivery of tasks
  • Attend client meetings and take supporting notes, minutes and capture actions
  • Work with the CF Partners to ensure all CPD requirements are met and training needs identified

Business Services Administration Assistant

Would you like to work for one of the region’s leading accountancy practices? We’re looking for Business Services Administration Assistant to join our Business Services team based at our Newcastle office.

Duties will include but not be limited to:
• Preparation of covering letters, binding of accounts and responsibility for ensuring accounts are sent out to clients.
• Production of letters and ensuring account are sent to Companies House
• Creating presentations and PowerPoint documents for presentation to clients as instructed by team members
• Production of client letters
• Responsible for archiving file system
• Providing ad hoc cover for reception duties when required (lunchtime and emergency cover only)
• Providing assistance with any other admin tasks as required
• Scheduling internal meetings

Essential Criteria:

Business Services Executive (Outsourcing)

Would you like to work for one of the region’s leading accountancy practices? We’re looking for a Business Services Executive (Outsourcing) to join our growing Business Services’ team based at our Newcastle Office.

The Outsourcing team provides clients with a wide range of accounting services with the aim to take the day to day strains away, allowing clients to focus on their business.

The successful candidate will work with clients’ financial information mainly with VAT preparation, bookkeeping and management accounts. Ensuring deadlines are met and compliance with necessary regulations. Completing the job as far as possible before passing management accounts/VAT work to manager for review or prior to passing over to the accounts team for statutory accounts preparation.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Reconcile bank accounts, post journals, post bank/credit card transactions and sales/ purchase invoices/credit notes, allocate customer receipts and supplier payments, export data and analyse data in following accounting software SAGE L50, SAGE Online, XERO and Quickbooks
  • Compilation and analysis of data in Microsoft Excel
  • Preparation of payroll journals from source data
  • Scanning invoices/uploading into Receipt Bank and completion of reviews before submission into Xero
  • Entering weekly cash takings onto Xero
  • Review of work completed, produce review points, monitor clearance of queries to ensure it technical accuracy and presented correctly
  • Calculate more complex areas for sets of management accounts (where appropriate)
  • Input from records and produce VAT, management information
  • Prepare the necessary schedules, using clients’ books and records, to enable completion of the bank/cash control account and the bank reconciliation, including the analysis of payments and receipts on spreadsheets
  • Input purchase and sales invoices
  • Prepare a VAT analysis and returns
  • Prepare sales and purchase control accounts
  • Calculate any accruals or prepayments and prepare the appropriate schedules
  • Prepare HP and loan accounts if necessary
  • Prepare and/or check fixed asset registers including preparation and/or checking of depreciation calculations
  • Resolve simple queries and seek assistance from a more senior member of staff if the queries are of a more complex nature
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts (where appropriate)

Skills and experience:

  • AAT qualified with relevant experience
  • Experience of Microsoft office, Sage, Xero is essential. Other packages such as Digita and Quickbooks preferable
  • Client focus and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative

Microsoft Power Platform Developer

The role is a permanent role for an experienced Power Platform Developer, where the role will involve creation and administration of business applications within Power Automate, Power Apps, PVA and Power BI.

The firm has an existing number of key business processes, applications and workflows that require re-developing completely using modern development practices and which will integrate 3rd party software with Microsoft 365 for both internal and external users.

The successful candidates will act as a subject matter expert for the Power Platform technology stack by gathering requirements from key business stakeholders throughout the client facing teams within the firm, creating proof of concept designs, through to the implementation of solutions and handover to internal teams of the end solution to be used as “business as usual”.

The Power Platform Developer will help shape the future of the design and delivery of Business Processes which impact both internal and external users of our Services. The Power Platform Developer will support other projects and initiatives that allow for collaborative working across all offices as part of the wider team and with clients.

Key aspects of the role

  • Work with the partner group to understand the overall Business Processes and the priority areas for app development
  • Gathering of technical and user requirements and understanding how the current Business Process works
  • Developing the model for a new process based on Power Platform and seeking its approval by key stakeholders
  • Designing and building new and replacement solutions using the Power Platform and the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem and associated technologies such as (but not limited to) Word, Powerpoint, SharePoint and Teams
  • Develop custom connectors for APIs for other software products which are used within the firm
  • Good understanding of other areas within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem that form part of the Power Platform, such as Power Virtual Agents and QnA makers and ability to determine the most appropriate solution to optimise a Business Process
  • Develop, manage and maintain the project lifecycle from concept, creation, deployment and ongoing administration
  • Develop and execute test plans to prove robustness of solutions
  • Excellent customer service, working with key stakeholders well to define requirements and manage end user roll out and where appropriate training
  • Undertake appropriate remediation actions where needed in a timely manner to ensure high levels of user satisfaction and continuity on project deliverables
  • Develop, complete and update all documentation relating to the processes, solution, design, and testing
  • Experience required
  • At least 2 years’ experience of Power Platform, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model Driven), Power Automate and Power BI and any other associated technologies such as Dynamics 365
  • Proven ability to create professional Canvas and Model Power Apps with attractive user interfaces, associated views, forms, business rules, relationships and process flows
  • Ability to incorporate user authentication, data validation and visualisation, file upload abilities in Canvas apps
  • Experience creating complex workflows using Power Automate, utilizing JSON to connect to external data sources, connecting to Microsoft Dataverse (CDS Connectors) to configure flows
  • Ability to integrate flows and apps with other Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and 3rd party software such as eg Docusign, Signnow
  • Good understanding of data architecture. designing databases and services using Microsoft solutions
  • Ability to identify new technology as its released by Microsoft and the potential use in internal and client facing scenarios
  • Microsoft 365 qualifications (such as Developer Associate) or evidence of other continuing professional development desirable
