Our Payroll team reflect on the past year

The MHA Tait Walker Payroll team reflect on their achievements as a team following a year of working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What we thought was a few weeks of working from home turned into 12 months of having to adapt to new ways of working, constantly changing legislation and ever changing personal lives. Thankfully we’ve had our specialist Employment Tax team support us from a furlough and CJRS perspective, and we’re so grateful for their ongoing support.

We have kept each other going, encouraging each other to mentally and physically make it through. We’ve grown tighter as a team and we’ve improved our processes not only for ourselves but for our clients too, which we are so proud to say is currently being reflected in a recent client survey.

What has this meant over the past 12 months?

  • 4,380 payroll runs
  • Approximately 60,000 employee payments
  • Tens of millions of pounds worth of net pay

We’ve also supported clients who previously ran their payroll inhouse with emergency cover due to the internal effects of Covid on their business. We’ve hit our deadlines, paid the employees accurately and improved the processes for the client moving forward. We’re really proud to support and help our clients during such worrying times.

We pride ourselves on being not just an outsource bureau, but a contact for anyone who’s been struggling and needs help and support with the ever changing beast that is payroll.
