5 Minutes With… Lucy Elliott, Corporate Finance Associate Director

We want you to get to know our Corporate Finance team!

Our ‘5 Minutes With…’ blog series continues with our Associate Director, Lucy Elliott

What is your role and how long have you been part of the Tait Walker Corporate Finance team?

I am a Corporate Finance Associate Director and have worked in the team for ten years. I mainly help clients to raise money to grow their business and to ultimately sell their business.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The people make my role so enjoyable. I love meeting new people every day and building relationships with clients. At Tait Walker, we are also very lucky to have a great team who are a pleasure to work alongside every day.

What’s your favourite thing about the North East?

We really do have the best of everything in the North East – we have the countryside, the coast and also busy cities. And they’re all within a short drive.

Where is your ideal dinner date and why?

It would definitely be the Florida Keys, without a doubt! It has beautiful scenery and amazing seafood.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

Believe it or not, I wanted to be a ballet dancer! Obviously this could not be further away from what I do now!

What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?

The best advice I’ve been given is to be myself – people do business with people they like.

What’s your favourite way to spend a Saturday morning?

Ideally it would be a lie in and then a leisurely brunch on the Quayside. In reality, it’s usually a 6am wake up call by an over-enthusiastic toddler!
