Capital Allowances Specialist
Prior to joining MHA Tait Walker in October 2018, Matt had a role in HMRC in policy work relating to capital allowances with a particular focus on the public sector. He then took a role at KPMG in London as a Fixed Asset Tax Services specialist advising and preparing claims for some of the largest financial services, real estate and corporate clients across the globe.
As a Capital Allowances Specialist at MHA Tait Walker, Matt’s daily tasks vary depending upon the portfolio of clients he is working with. General day to day tasks involve liaising with clients and quantity surveyors, establishing entitlement and quantifying values, carrying out site surveys to view assets and drafting reports for submission to HMRC.
Matt is currently working towards his CTA qualification alongside an MSc in Quantity Surveying. He is also preparing to take his APC for RICS in 2019. The combination of both taxation and Chartered Surveying qualifications allow all angles of the claim preparation to be covered from cost quantification to tax analysis.
