Tait Walker’s new recruits and promotions

North East independent accountancy practice Tait Walker is driving growth and opening up opportunities at all levels with recent appointments and promotions across the business.

Recognising existing talent within its workforce, the company has promoted three long-serving members of the team to senior positions and recruited a further three members into new roles.

Tait Walker’s corporate recovery expert Matt Higgins has been appointed as Associate Partner, which will see him work closely with Gordon Goldie to further develop the Insolvency and Turnaround department.

Lucy Elliott, who has been with Tait Walker for over 10 years, has been promoted to Associate Director of the Corporate Finance team and Paul Shields, who has worked in Tait Walker’s Business Services department for the last 7 years, has been promoted to Associate.

Alongside internal promotions, new appointments Chris Hird and Beth Ramsden have joined Tait Walker as Corporate Finance Executive and Business Services Executive respectively. Northumbria University graduate Samantha Nichol, who studied Journalism BA (Hons), has been appointed as Marketing Assistant.

Matt said: “I’ve witnessed first-hand Tait Walker setting the pace in the North East accountancy industry and things don’t seem to be slowing down, which is really exciting to be a part of.

“I’m looking forward to bringing an innovative and creative approach to insolvency with my new responsibilities, and ultimately driving the department forward.”

Chris from Eaglescliffe, Stockton, said: “I’m really looking forward to working alongside Lucy in her new role, together with my other colleagues who have developed the Corporate Finance team to where it is today.”

Andrew Moorby, managing partner at Tait Walker, said: “2014 has been very positive so far and it’s a great feeling being able to reward our team members who have excelled in their work. Matt and Lucy are perfect examples of those striving hard to get to where they want to be and achieving it. Paul has been with the firm for many years and is a real asset to our Business Services department and we’re delighted to have been able to watch him grow through the ranks to associate level.

“We’re always keen to open up these opportunities to our ever-expanding team, while continually looking outwards to bring in new thinking and expertise from different backgrounds, which will prove invaluable to our clients.

“Samantha has already become a key addition and we’re looking forward to welcoming more graduates to the team in September”.

Tait Walker, which operates from offices in Newcastle, Teesside and Morpeth, was awarded an Investors in People (IIP) Gold Award for the second time and named Independent Firm of the Year at this year’s North East Accountancy Awards.
