We are thrilled to be announced as bronze sponsor for GeNErosity – the North East’s Festival of Philanthropy and Giving.
The GeNErosity Festival is a unique event and the first of its kind in the North East. Not only is it an opportunity to celebrate the rich history of philanthropy in the region but also to debate its future and encourage more giving and generosity
Taking place from 7th – 27th November 2018, the Community Foundation announced the festival in partnership with Northumberland and Newcastle Universities – and everyone is invited.
Sandra King, Chief Philanthropy Officer at the Community Foundation, said: “The GeNErosity Festival will be a fantastic showcase for our region. But it isn’t only about celebrating the past – it’s also about influencing the future of philanthropy by inspiring more people to experience the joy of giving. Anyone can be a philanthropist – and many North Easterners already are.”
“The Festival will highlight how past and present philanthropists have made a real difference. But we will also be asking people to get involved by being more generous with not just money but also time in whatever way suits them. Giving has always been hugely important to our region, and we need philanthropy now more than ever.”
Andrew Moorby, Managing Partner at Tait Walker, said: ‘It is great to be involved in such a fantastic showcase of our region and the amazing people who have made it what it is. We continue to see generosity and community spirit and this is a great way to celebrate how we can shape the future of our region. Anyone can be a philanthropist, giving even your time or skills helps our region, our people and our economy to grow”.
