Skills & Opportunities Fund to fund projects in the North

The Skills & Opportunity Fund are committing £2.5m to fund projects in charities, social enterprises, community groups, state-funded schools and colleges across the UK and Ireland.

They’ve split the country into seven regions, each with its own decision making board. The following explains the type of projects they are looking to fund in the North:

“In the North, we’re looking to fund projects that serve a community recognised as disadvantaged such as young people with a lack of opportunities, people with disabilities or minority groups. We’re especially keen on projects that support the creation of jobs and businesses in rural areas, improve young people’s life chances by providing recognised qualifications and those that help people investigate self-employment or start their own business. We particularly welcome organisations who use a high number of volunteers in the delivery of their activities.”

North Board Chair – Richard Topliss

The Skills & Opportunity Fund can provide a grant of up to £35,000. For further information, please click here.
