Great North Snowdogs

We are very proud to have sponsored a Great North Snowdog at Tyne and Wear’s biggest ever mass-participation public art event!

St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice teamed up with creative producers Wild in Art to create a public art trail of Snowdog sculptures, based on The Snowman and The Snowdog. Sponsored by businesses, artists, schools and community groups, the sculptures were proudly displayed across the North East for 10 weeks from 19th September 2016, with a trail map and dedicated app leading people on their hunt.

Addam Upright

As a proud snowdog sponsor, we teamed up with amazing London-based artist, Tim Miness, to create our very own Tait Walker mascot, Addam Upright! Tim really encapsulated our brand by painting Addam’s smart navy pinstripe suit, along with his yellow tie and trusty calculator in his pocket.

Sitting proudly in his home at Gosforth Central Park for ten weeks, Addam proved to be very popular, gaining lots of local press coverage and taking the ‘Dog of the Day’ title four times. He also had lots of visitors taking ‘snowfies’ with him and he had over 300 loyal fur-lowers on Twitter!

The Auction

The trail ended on 20th November and the sculptures were polished and restored to paw-fect condition before they were auctioned on 6th December at The Sage, Gateshead.

Addam was Lot 24 and sold for a fantastic £4,000! All profit from the auction – a staggering £259,000 – was donated to St Oswald’s Hospice to help towards the vital work they do for local children and their families.

Thank You

We are delighted that Addam helped towards raising such a huge amount of money for a very deserving cause and we are extremely proud to have been involved in such a fantastic and unique North East project.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported Addam and all of the other fantastic dogs on the Great North Snowdogs trail.
